If you’re an author wanting to publish your work, you’re probably asking yourself one of two questions: how do I get my manuscript published traditionally or how do I self-publish? Self-publishing is a popular route for authors, especially those who want more control over the process and a higher percentage of royalties.
One of the most popular platforms for self-publishing is Amazon KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing). In this article, we’ll guide you through the steps of self-publishing on Amazon KDP.
Step 1: Write Your Book
The first step in the self-publishing process is to write your book. Before you start typing away, do your research and create an outline. Consider your target audience, genre, and themes. Determine what your book will be about and create a plan of action.
Once you have your outline, start writing. Take your time and make sure your writing is polished and well-crafted. When you’re finished, go back and edit your work. It’s a good idea to have beta readers review your manuscript and give you feedback.
