Melodies of Freedom and Unveiling Liberty
My poem about guarding the flame of freedom and liberty in the veins of history
This is my poem about losing our freedom and liberty in relation to free speech, religion, and rights to bear arms as protected by the Constitution.
“Melodies of Freedom and Unveiling Liberty” — A poem by Danwil Reyes, author.
In shadows dim, where freedom wanes,
A silent echo, dreams in chains.
With whispered words, suppressed ideals,
Bound by fear, longing to heal.
Oh, speak! Unshackle every voice,
Let melodies of truth rejoice.
For in the depths of open minds,
A symphony of hope unwinds.
But when the freedoms we hold dear,
Are smothered, silenced with cold fear,
A mournful dirge, its tune resounds,
In hearts ensnared, in souls astound.
No sacred song of faith shall soar,
When walls confine and hearts abhor.
For in diversity, we find,
A harmony that intertwines.
And as the blood of liberty flows,
Through veins of history, it shows,
That rights to arms, a vigil kept,
Must not in hatred’s fire be swept.
Yet still, a balance must be found,
Where arms secured, won’t taint the ground.
For when the power to destroy,
Surpasses love, all life’s true joy.
Oh, let us not be slaves of fate,
But guardians of our nation’s state.
Where freedom’s flame forever burns,
And for all souls, compassion yearns.
Without the free, the brave would cease,
And future’s dreams would find no peace.
So let compassion guide our core,
To strengthen bonds forevermore.
Let not the shadows claim our peace,
Let not our freedoms ever cease.
In unity, we shall prevail,
And let our souls soar, like a gale.
