NewsBreak Announces Updated Monetization Terms For Creators
NewsBreak Introduces New Monetization Terms For Its Creators
NewsBreak announces its updated monetization terms for creators.
Yep, you read it right — the growing publication just introduced or revised (yet again) yesterday their monetization terms for their creators on its platform.
These important changes include the following terms and conditions:
- Removal of base pay: We will no longer be offering base pay on any articles and/or videos that you publish. Instead, you will receive a monthly payout based on revenue generated from your qualifying content.
- Elimination of CV Score: You will no longer be given a CV Score for written content and references to CV Score will be removed throughout the creator portal.
According to Newsbreak, their creators will continue to be rewarded for their creator or user referrals for the month of August.
The company announced referral bonuses will be reevaluated next month, and that it is not guaranteed referral bonuses will continue to be extended.
For their referral bonuses, please note of the following:
- A one-time $50 bonus for each referred article or video creator if the referee is approved to become a monetized creator and publishes at least one qualifying article or video on NewsBreak.
- An additional $200 if the approved referee publishes over 50 qualifying articles or over 30 qualifying videos on NewsBreak.
- $5 per new user that downloads their NewsBreak app here when you refer.

Newsbreak encourages its creators to read and review the new terms and agree to them via the creator portal.
Those who do not agree to their new Monetization Terms will not be eligible for revenue generated from existing articles nor referral bonuses until you as a creator accept their new monetization terms, according to NewsBreak.
Please share this announcement with other writers and on social media. I’d also love for you to follow me here on Medium, Vocal.Media, and NewsBreak.
What do you think of these updated monetization terms from Newsbreak’s Creator Program? Do you write solely for NewsBreak? Feel free to comment.
Maybe it’s time that you also consider writing for Medium or better yet for the Vocal Media+ platform here who rewards and pays its writers more with its weekly or monthly Writing Challenges like their Summer Fiction Contest here.
Thank you for reading these updated monetization terms for creators from NewsBreak. Yes, the NB TOS can be hard to understand, but I hope this helps. Until next time, friends. Please take care of yourself and each other. Cheers!
