Peculiarity for Being in the World But Not of the World
I still love and care for you, though you haven’t chosen me and I’ve chosen you
I have put together the words of this poem through the inspiration of the Bible, specifically from the books of Apostle John 15:16 and John 17:14–16.
Beneath the sky’s indifferent blue,
Where once I stood with hope anew,
I shared the truths, the light, the way,
Yet found myself alone, astray.
In fields of words, I sowed the seeds,
Of love, of peace, of human deeds,
But thorns of doubt and fear they grew,
From hearts that once said, “I love you.”
Betrayal’s sting, a serpent’s kiss,
They turned away, dismissed my bliss,
For truths too bright, too real, too raw,
They chose the comfort of the flaw.
Yet here I stand, with heart still whole,
Though echoes of their scorn still roll,
I choose to love, though they betray,
For love’s true path is not cliché.
In quiet nights, when stars converse,
I see the universe’s verse,
It whispers low, “Endure the strife,
For love transcends this mortal life.”
The river flows, it does not bind,
Nor does it question, nor is blind,
It gives its water, pure and free,
To lands that curse its gift, or flee.
So shall I be, a river’s grace,
Unwavering in time and place,
Though my truths were met with scorn,
My love, like water, will be born.
For in this dance of give and take,
Where hearts might break or friendships shake,
I’ll mend my spirit, thread by thread,
With love that neither dies nor dreads.
To those who turned, who could not see,
The light that shone in you, in me,
I’ll send my love, my silent prayer,
Hoping one day, you’ll find you there.
For love’s true lesson, deep and wide,
Is not to seek the love returned,
But to give freely, undeterred,
In every breath, in every word.

Yes, I believe doing the work for the Almighty “God” (YAHWEH) and His Begotten Son and Savior of humanity “Jesus” (YAHSHUA) here on Earth, which some say is peculiar, is the greatest thing that I’m doing in my life!
