Souls That Sins Die
My poetic piece about the soul from the prophet Ezekiel
I wrote this spiritual poem with inspiration from the Bible (Ezekiel 18:20).
In the twilight of our days we ponder,
The fallacy of the immortal soul we wonder,
Ezekiel’s prophecy looms dark and near,
The soul that sins must surely fear.
— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —
For in the unraveling of time’s cruel thread,
We find our souls weighed by deeds we tread,
In contemplation of life’s righteous call,
We must heed, lest into darkness we fall.
— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —
Beneath the facade of flesh and bone,
Lies the soul’s destiny, unknown,
Shall it soar on righteous wings of light,
Or be consumed by sin’s eternal blight?
— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —
Let us strive for goodness in words and deeds,
To sow the seeds of love that forever leads,
Toward the path of righteousness and grace,
Where our souls find solace in divine embrace.
— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — -
For in the end, when time shall cease to toll,
It is the soul that shall bear the eternal goal,
To rise above sin’s earthly cry,
And with angels in heaven, forever live.
