The true intent and real message of the rainbow are the subject of this blog post. Today, I’ll share the divine message of “God” (Yahweh) in His creation of the rainbow.
Rainbows are one of nature’s most beautiful and awe-inspiring sights. Their vibrant colors stretching across the sky have inspired countless works of art and literature.
Also, the rainbow is considered a sign of goodness from Almighty Yahweh. In Abrahamic religions, specifically in the Judeo-Christian faiths, the rainbow is seen as a covenant from Elohim.
The story goes that after the Great Flood, Elohim created a rainbow in the sky as a sign to Noah that He would never again destroy the Earth with a flood. The rainbow was a symbol of Yahweh’s love, mercy, and forgiveness.
But unfortunately, in recent times, the beauty of the rainbow has been associated with immorality and perverse behavior. This association has led many to forget the true meaning and significance behind the rainbow.
And yes, also very sadly, in modern times, the rainbow has been co-opted and associated with a particular movement within contemporary society.
However, it is important to remember that the rainbow is not a symbol for immorality or deviant behavior. The rainbow is a symbol of love without sin!
Rather than being a symbol of debauchery, the rainbow should be specially recognized as a powerful symbol of hope and progress.
Furthermore, the creation of the rainbow holds a special place within the Judeo-Christian faith.
As I already mentioned above, in the Bible, in the book of Genesis, it says Yahweh was angered by the wickedness and corruption of humanity and sent a great flood to cleanse the earth and start anew. (Genesis 7:11–12)
But Yahweh also chose to spare Noah and his family, who were the only righteous people left, and together with them, He saved two of every kind of animal in the world.
After the floodwaters receded, Yahweh made a covenant with Noah, stating that He would never again destroy the earth by a flood.
As a sign of this promise, Yahweh set a rainbow in the sky, telling Noah that every time it appeared, he should remember the covenant between them.
In biblical times, rainbows were a rare and miraculous occurrence, and as such, they held a great deal of significance.
Again, the rainbow is a symbol of Yahweh’s mercy, love, and forgiveness. It was a reminder that despite the wickedness of humanity, Yahweh was a just and merciful Elohim who would always keep His promises.
But the significance of the rainbow goes beyond just a simple symbol of mercy and hope. It also symbolizes the complexity and beauty of Yahweh’s creation.
The colors of the rainbow represent the multiplicity of Yahweh’s creative power and serve as a reminder that we live in a diverse world, full of different people, cultures, and creatures.
From a biblical perspective, the creation of the rainbow also teaches us several important lessons.
Firstly, it teaches us that Yahweh is Elohim of second chances. Despite the wickedness that existed within humanity, Yahweh chose to spare Noah and his family, and He promised never to destroy the earth again.
This act of mercy and forgiveness serves as a reminder that no matter how far we have strayed from Yahweh’s path, there is always a chance for redemption.
Secondly, the rainbow teaches us about the importance of remembering our covenants with Yahweh. Just as Elohim asked Noah to remember the covenant every time he saw the rainbow, we too must remember the promises we have made to Yahweh and honor them.
Lastly, the rainbow reminds us of the beauty and complexity of Yahweh’s creation. It encourages us to appreciate the diversity of the world around us and to celebrate the differences that make us unique.
