Why many avoid engaging with spiritual blogs is the topic of my blog post today. I’ll explore and share my perspective on why so many people don’t interact with spirituality, which is supposed to be a top priority for all of us.

I want you to remember these biblical verses: Amos 8:11–12 and Matthew 10:33! Yes, I’ll come back again to these verses at the later part of this blog.

In today’s digital age, where information is readily accessible and opinions are freely shared, one might expect a vibrant discussion around topics as profound and personal as religion and spirituality.

However, there exists a noticeable gap in engagement with religious and spiritual blogs. This post delves into the reasons behind this phenomenon, exploring the social, psychological, and practical factors that contribute to this silence.

Fear of Judgment and Polarization:

One of the primary reasons people avoid engaging with religious or spiritual blogs is the fear of judgment or being labeled. Religion and spirituality are deeply personal, and individuals may be hesitant to share their views publicly, fearing that they might be judged or misunderstood. The online space, often characterized by its anonymity, can exacerbate this fear, as it allows for more extreme opinions and reactions.

Lack of Interest or Relevance:

Not everyone finds discussions about religion and spirituality engaging or relevant to their lives. Some might view these topics as too abstract or disconnected from their daily concerns. This lack of interest can lead to a general avoidance of blogs and articles that focus on these subjects.

The Echo Chamber Effect:

The internet, while offering a wealth of diverse perspectives, can also serve as an echo chamber where individuals are more likely to interact with content that aligns with their existing beliefs. This can discourage engagement with blogs that present challenging or unfamiliar ideas, leading to a self-reinforcing cycle of limited interaction.

Time and Energy Constraints:

Engaging with complex, thought-provoking content requires time and mental energy. Many people may simply not have the capacity to invest in such discussions, especially when they are dealing with personal or professional pressures.

Avoidance of Conflict:

Discussions about religion and spirituality can be emotionally charged and contentious. Some individuals may prefer to avoid such conflicts altogether, choosing to remain silent rather than risk a heated exchange.

The Influence of Social Media:

The rise of social media has changed how we consume and interact with content. The fast-paced, bite-sized nature of social media posts may not be conducive to the in-depth, reflective engagement required by religious and spiritual discussions.

Lack of Trust and Comfort with Spiritual or Religious Bloggers:

Another significant factor contributing to the avoidance of religious and spiritual blogs is a lack of trust or comfort with the bloggers themselves. Many people may not feel comfortable with the perspectives or intentions of those who write about these topics. I can relate to this because, in my opinion, many of them are no good and are in it only for money and fame!

A Famine for Spiritual Words of Truth:

But notice that according to the Bible in Amos 8:11–12, a famine for spiritual words of truth is on the horizon. It says, “The days are coming,” declares Yahweh, “when I will send a famine through the land — not a famine of food or a thirst for water, but a famine of hearing My words.”

Yes, the above prophetic words may contribute to the avoidance of religious and spiritual blogs, as people may feel that the content they encounter does not align with their spiritual needs.

Deny Me and I’ll Also Deny You:

Additionally, in Matthew 10:33, the Bible says, “But whoever denies Me “Jesus” (Yahshua) before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.”

Do you realize the utmost importance and significance of the above-mentioned statements? The Savior of humanity Himself, Yahshua, will also deny us on “judgment day” if we deny Him and His messages in the Bible! This means the gates of heaven will be closed to anyone denying Yahshua! If those statements won’t shake your core and don’t send tingling down your spine, I don’t know what will! Anyway, I’m just a humble messenger.

Overall, I’d say the reasons behind the lack of engagement with religious and spiritual blogs are multifaceted and complex. They range from personal fears and time constraints to broader issues of online culture and the nature of social media. Addressing this silence requires a multifaceted approach that considers these various factors and seeks to foster more open, respectful dialogue about these important topics. It is essential to be discerning about the sources of information you read and follow bloggers who are trustworthy with their religious messages and/or spiritual beliefs.
